Singing Teacher
I received my degree in music teaching at the College of Music in Cologne and afterwards at the Maastricht Academy of Music. My way of working is based on the natural ability of the speaking and singing voice. It is my conviction that, given the proper motivation and physical condition, anyone can learn to sing. In my vocal pedagogical practice I consciously work with the whole body, to counteract unnatural patterns and address – often deeply rooted – habits, in order to release and rebuild. Together with my students I search for a natural balance between voice, breath, support and resonance to allow the personal and natural-sounding timbre to emerge.

I often attend courses to keep up with new developments and insides in my field. My singing technique and the teaching methods are influenced by, among others, the teachings of Moshé Feldenkrais, in the Netherlands and in Belgium also known for his book “Bewust worden door bewegen”, the Pilates method, Yoga or the more recent discoveries of Eric Franklin.
With a passionate dedication I pass this knowledge on to my students, and have been doing so for nearly 20 years now. I can now look back on almost 20 years of teaching experience. I teach at the Conservatory of Hasselt and at my private practice in Maasmechelen. My pedagogical work focuses on singers of all styles.
